When the antichrists would make the covenant, when the temple would be rebuilt, when the Lord would return, and where and when the Lord would take us up, all these had been told to us. So we only needed to attend meetings, be obedient, and wait to be taken up to reign and rule when the revelations were fulfilled. Therefore, I paid much attention to reading Brother Lee’s messages. I also shepherded the brothers and sisters in the area where I ministered according to the methods of Brother Lee. Honestly speaking, at that time, I only wished that I could be full of the words from the messages of Brother Lee either when I preached or when I fellowshipped, for Brother Lee once said that he was the Lord’s recorder and that we should all become his recorders. It could be said that the brothers and sisters under me and I worshipped Brother Lee’s messages as we worshipped God. We read his messages at usual times, shared his messages at the meetings, and followed the prescribed routine in his messages waiting for God’s return. I condemned anything different from the “vision revealed” by Brother Lee as a “heresy” and would not accept it at all.

And I said to the brothers and sisters wherever I went, “The ‘Eastern Lightning’ is a cult. If you read their books or fellowship with them, you will be deceived. You must stay away from them. Don’t fellowship with them. They are of an underworld organization which is against the Communist Party. Their key persons even have guns. And they seduced people with beautiful men and women. If you join them, you cannot drop out. If you try to do so, they will gouge out your eyes or cut off your nose, or even your whole family will be in danger!” I wantonly sealed off the churches in such a way at that time, yet I regarded myself as faithful to the Lord, responsible for the churches, and a guard for the churches. Little did I realize that I had become an antichrist. Now, I regret it very bitterly.

📚Eastern Lightning | Heresy and Cults Cannot Be Determined by People

God’s last days’ work has already conquered a group of people in Mainland China. Many believers in the religious community who long for God to appear have been conquered by God’s words because they have heard God’s voice and have returned before God’s throne. At the same time, many priests and elders in the religious community are desperate to resist and condemn God’s last days’ work. They always refer to it as heresy or a cult and wantonly condemn and blaspheme it. Their ignorance and arrogance drive them, like the Pharisees of those days, to take the road to perdition of resisting God and viewing God as an enemy, at the critical moment when new work replaces old.

From the creation of the world until now, God has always been doing new work and continuously leading mankind toward development. But every time God’s new work befalls mankind, a great number of people will emerge who resist God’s new work. They cling to the work that God has done in the past and guard people’s notions and imaginations, determine God’s new work through people’s knowledge and intellect and are eventually eliminated by God because they resist God and reject God’s new work.

It is a well-known fact that in the days of Noah, when people had fallen to extreme depths and were not able to develop further, God intended to destroy this world with floods. Noah was the only righteous man at that time and he was graced before Jehovah God and God commanded him to construct an ark and told about the floods destroying the world. Instead of using his own mind to analyze and judge God’s work, Noah simply listened and obeyed. He did not consider so much and was full of faith in Jehovah God. He followed God’s words and passed on the way to all who were present in the land at that time, so that those who heard the way could all get on the ark and be preserved by God. This was God’s intention at that time. But the people at that time did not understand God’s intention and on seeing that Noah had sold all of his property to make such a big ark and was saying that the floods would destroy the world, said that Noah was insane and mentally disturbed. Everyone thought he was spreading heresy and things that would not come to pass. Therefore, everything that Noah did was opposed and rejected, ridiculed and slandered by all. Today we are all clear. Was Noah really not normal? Was Noah spreading heresy? No! So why did people at that time condemn him like that? This is all because people are too subjective and too confident and do not accept new things. They just know how to talk irresponsibly, to condemn as they please and ultimately, to die in their own net. And Noah’s family, who people regarded as heretics, survived.

As mankind’s corruption deepened, by the latter part of the Age of Law, the law is no longer applicable to man. God wished to do even greater work, to become flesh to save those living on the verge of death and to open up a new way out for mankind, to make people break free from the bondage of the law and be able to survive. Therefore, Jesus came to be amongst people to start to preach the gospel of the kingdom and the way of repentance. As long as people believe in the name of Jesus and prostrate before Jesus, they can be forgiven of their sins and live in a new light and have peace, joy, and endless grace. However, the chief priests, scribes and the Pharisees of that time did not know God’s intentions at that time and what work He was to do. They thought that Jesus did not abide by the laws and that He was trying to set Himself apart from Jehovah and that He was dismantling Jehovah’s work and demolishing the temple. Therefore, they detested Lord Jesus with utmost hatred, did their utmost to resist Him and besieged Him everywhere. They deliberately tried to catch Him out and find fault with Lord Jesus’ words and work and said that Jesus did not observe the Sabbath and that He healed people on the Sabbath, led disciples to collect ears of wheat, did not wash His hands before eating, dined with sinners and did not enter the temple to serve God…. These people consistently followed the principle of, “Those who do not agree with me, who do not agree with the records of the Bible, who do not agree with the prophecies of the Bible are heresy and cults,” did not have any intention of seeking or observing all that Jesus did and upheld their own thinking all along, condemned and persecuted Jesus and even though they knew that Jesus has risen from the dead, still deliberately resisted Him and fabricated lies to deceive the common people. They were too self-righteous and arrogant, did not seek the truth, did not obey the work of the Holy Spirit and did not touch God’s current intentions. In what way did they believe in God? They clearly believed in their own imagination and notions and were diametrically opposed to God. They were thus rejected and cursed by God and became the objects of eternal revulsion.

At that time, was Paul not also one of those who persecuted Lord Jesus? It was only after he was knocked down on the road to Damascus that he knew that the Jesus he hunted and persecuted was God. So he later showed great enthusiasm and desperately preached the way and worked for Jesus and admitted to all: “But this I confess to you, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets” (Act 24:14). And Paul was treated as one who preached heresy by the Pharisees of that time and condemned and persecuted because he acknowledged the name of Jesus.

The last days have already arrived. Although we have been redeemed by Jesus Christ, our sinful nature still exists. So on the foundation of God’s work of the Age of Grace, God has once again become flesh to do the work of thoroughly cleansing people and make people break free from Satan’s corrupt disposition, be completely cleansed and to restore the original appearance of people at the beginning. But nowadays, people from all sects still uphold the old work, their own notions and the salvation of the cross. They commit sins and confess their sins and confine God in the Bible, on the cross and in the Age of Grace. They say that God cannot become flesh again, cannot do new work, cannot utter new words, cannot abolish past work and say that God’s last days’ work undermines the work of Jesus. And because God did not arrive on the clouds as they thought in their notions, they once again determined God’s work to be heresy and said that those who preach the gospel of the kingdom are specifically stealing their sheep. Faced with God’s last days’ work, they have no intention of seeking and nitpick and find fault in the words of Almighty God, describing the work and words that do not match their notions as wrong and build up their own notions in their minds as the truth, letting their followers pay homage and obey them in every way. When they see the spectacular occasion of the spreading of Almighty God’s work, not only do they not reflect on themselves and seek God’s work, but instead they condemn and blaspheme God’s work. What difference is there between them resisting God’s last days’ work and words in this way and the Pharisees of those days saying that Jesus relied on Beelzebub the king of demons to cast out demons? They subject Almighty God’s work to all kinds of humiliation and frame and spread rumors and slander those who spread the gospel of the kingdom, saying that these people dig out people’s eyes and cut off their noses, and so on. Are the words and deeds of these religious people not the real second edition of the Pharisees? Is it not a repeat of the tragedy of the Pharisees’ resistance of Jesus? Is it not people’s extremely foolish mistake?

From start to finish, God’s work is always moving forward. There is always new work and a new age, and every time God’s new work is labelled as “heresy and cult” by people and there is always a large number of people who resist God’s new work. But no matter how people resist, God’s work is accomplished all the same. No one can stop it. As Almighty God said, “Nevertheless, I must tell you that often the work of God greatly exceeds man’s expectations and is difficult for the minds of men to accept. For men are merely maggots upon the earth, while God is the supreme One that fills the universe; the mind of man is akin to a pit of foul water that gives rise only to maggots, whereas each stage of the work directed by the thoughts of God is the distillation of God’s wisdom. Man constantly wishes to contend with God, to which I say it is self-evident who will suffer loss in the end. … You must know that all of the Israelites spurned and denied Jesus, and yet the fact of Jesus’ redemption of mankind still spread to the ends of the universe. Isn’t this a reality that God made long ago? If you are still awaiting Jesus to take you up to heaven, then I say that you are an obstinate piece of deadwood. Jesus will not acknowledge a false believer such as you who is disloyal to the truth and seeks only blessings. On the contrary, He will show no mercy in casting you into the lake of fire to burn for tens of thousands of years” (“Christ Does the Work of Judgment With the Truth” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). Today, although some people do not acknowledge that Lord Jesus has already returned and is the last Christ Almighty God, God’s last days’ work still tumbles on like a wave, spreading throughout the whole of Mainland China with irresistible force, spreading to the west and to all nations, confirming and accomplishing the prophecies of Lord Jesus: “For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Mat 24:27). So, in the face of God’s new work, we should keep a seeking, accepting heart and should not use our own notions to resist God’s new work, because heresy and cult cannot be determined by people.

📚Why Does the CCP So Frantically Suppress and Cruelly Persecute the Church of Almighty God?

On May 28, 2014, the CCP utilized a group of psychotic people to meticulously fabricate the “Shandong Zhaoyuan Murder Case,” and used every large media outlet to wantonly spread propaganda and gain influence, framing and placing the blame on the Church of Almighty God, and publicly declaring it as an “evil cult organization.” They went even as far as to shout wildly: “If the battle is not finished, the troops will not be withdrawn!” Immediately following, the CCP’s Central Leading Group on Dealing With Heretical Religions (The 610 Office) convened a video and phone conference call of the whole country on June 16 to launch the special operation of the “Hundred Days Battle” to quell the Church of Almighty God within the scope of the whole country, regarding the issue of the suppression of the Church of Almighty God as a political mission of “utmost urgency, arduous labor and great importance.” Soon after that, they labeled the Church of Almighty God as an “evil cult organization” and added it to the legal regulations, and sent down a document to every province and city, to attack the Church of Almighty God with a heavy fist. They adopted the tyrannical policies of “lock up one group, kill one group.” The central authorities also transferred tens of millions in funding to offer rewards to units and individuals of outstanding performance as well as the masses for informing on members. They mobilized the masses to inform on and expose Christians of the Church of Almighty God, and induced the populace to rise up in a “people’s war” to lay siege to the Church of Almighty God and religious churches. In August, the evil party of the CCP, with absolute audacity and complete lack of scruple, initiated large-scale mobilization of armed police and regular troops to carry out total seizure, encirclement, and annihilation of Christians of the Church of Almighty God and other household churches.

Why Does the CCP So Frantically Suppress and Cruelly Persecute the Church of Almighty God?

In the example of Zhejiang Province: On July 15, 2014, at the Great Hall of the People in Wenzhou City of Zhejiang Province, the CCP convened a special meeting on attacking the Church of Almighty God. Among the participants of the meeting were the Chief of Staff of Nanjing Military Region, the Director of the Nanjing Military Region Logistics Department, the Director of the Military Representative Office of Shanghai, the Deputy Mayor of Wenzhou City, the Secretary General of the Wenzhou government, and other high officials of the CCP. There were also personnel of the Garrison Headquarters of Wenzhou Military Sub-District, armed police, traffic police, reserve forces, representatives of the frontier troops, and many others. Altogether, more than three hundred people. The conference asserted that: The CCP has already legislated to formally classify the Church of Almighty God as an “evil cult organization” and decided to launch the special operation of attacking the Church of Almighty God, to completely outlaw and root out the Church of Almighty God. During the meeting, the Secretary General of the Wenzhou government also demanded of participants to sign a letter guaranteeing that they would not participate in the organization of the Church of Almighty God or any other religious activities. Those who did not sign would be expelled from party membership and had their posts revoked without exception. If the participants or the broad cadres had family members who believe in Almighty God, it was required that they instruct their families to leave the Church of Almighty God, and if not they would be punished strictly! If there are people among the populace who join the Church of Almighty God, then measures will be carried out, such as capturing, fining, and imprisoning them. In addition, all of their social security as well as the employment of their direct relatives will be cancelled. After the meeting ended, all levels of government departments in Zhejiang Province jointly mobilized to deploy in secret the special operation to capture Christians of the Church of Almighty God, and dispatched more than 3,000 reservists to aid in neighborhood committee inspections through methods of drop-in registrations, checking of registered residence, as well as local gossip, discreetly asking questions about people’s beliefs. At the same time, they dispatched the armed police and plainclothes policemen throughout every street. Some posed as pedestrians asking directions from suspicious targets, some posed as beggars who then followed suspicious persons. Additionally, the CCP also specially deployed two experts to Wenzhou from Beijing. From the bus surveillance videos, they investigated people who were preaching the gospel on buses in 2012. And they also thoroughly inspected those who were previously arrested and had their information recorded, those who are rather well known for their belief in Almighty God, and those who have left other religious sects to enter into belief in Almighty God and other personnel.

In August, the CCP successively deployed on standby several groups of the People’s Armed Police to every area of Wenzhou: On August 18, they mobilized 1,000 armed police to Longwan District in Wenzhou; on August 20, they deployed 800 armed police to Cangnan County of Wenzhou; on August 23, they deployed 500 men to the local army barracks in Rui’an in Wenzhou; on August 25, they deployed 1,100 men to Shatou Town in Yongjia County of Wenzhou; on August 26, they deployed 600 men to Yueqing in Wenzhou. In September, the CCP deployed large numbers of regular troops to different places in Zhejiang: First, they deployed more than 3,000 ground troops of the First Brigade of the First Division of China’s First Army to Cangnan County of Wenzhou. Second, they deployed more than 2,000 tank soldiers of the Third Division of Shenyang Military Region and more than 20 tanks to Pingyang County in Wenzhou. Third, they deployed one brigade of more than 2,000 men of the Shaanxi Second Artillery Corps and more than 10 rocket artillery vehicles to Cangnan County in Wenzhou. Fourth, the CCP also deployed 2,700 naval personnel to Nanji Island in Pingyang County of Wenzhou. Fifth, they deployed one division of more than 5,000 infantry of China’s Third Army to Qingtian County in Lishui. Sixth, the CCP also deployed 87 elite army troops and more than 10 vehicles to Wenzhou. The Zhejiang Province joint operation from September 28 began against Christians of the Church of Almighty God to execute for the period of one week a large-scale arrest operation. In coordination with this arrest operation, the CCP spared no expense in providing huge monetary resources, and built three large prisons in the vicinity of Quzhou, Jinhua, and Longhu Mountain. At present, the evil CCP is, nationwide, frantically launching an operation to eradicate the Church of Almighty God. They have deployed the populace, the media, armed police and military troops across the whole country to overwhelmingly increase their evil operation of totally hunting down, arresting, and eradicating Christians of the Church of Almighty God. They have made use of television, internet, and other forms of media to unrestrainedly attack, blaspheme, and disparage the Church of Almighty God. They have smeared Christians of the Church of Almighty God. In the locations of cities, villages, streets, and public squares, they have advanced negative broadcasts and propaganda, and mobilized all aspects of their might to launch “blanket” searches. They have dispatched people to investigate village by village, entering every house, and searching every person. Seemingly they are determined to let off no one even if thousands are wrongly arrested and killed. As a result, the entire country, from top to bottom, including every province, city, town, and village, and even every street and hamlet, has fallen into an extremely nervous state, and the people are seized with fear and panic. The Chinese populace is currently living in a wide-spread atmosphere of extreme terror.

The CCP government has plotted for a long time to suppress and massacre Christians of the Church of Almighty God without restraint, and to rouse the populace of the whole country to rise up in a standoff with God. And they have brought violence to bear through despicable methods which are cruel in the extreme. They seem to have determined to eliminate the chosen people of the Church of Almighty God in one fell swoop. You can see their bloodthirsty atrocities, and their evil condition has reached tremendous heights that cannot be surpassed! The sins of the evil CCP are piled up to heaven, and the CCP is unpardonably wicked. Their acts of sinful conduct are innumerable and make your hair stand on end. They have already become the most tyrannical and sinister organization in the modern world! They are even more evil than the Nazi system of Adolf Hitler, and even more tyrannical and savage. There is simply nothing worse than them!

In this regard, some people may be at a loss: Why would the CCP government use armed police and regular troops to suppress Christians who are completely defenseless? In reality, the answer is quite simple: It is because the incarnate Almighty God of the last days has come to do work in China. He has delivered utterances of millions of words, and has announced to the masses all the mysteries in the Bible and the plan that God has run for six thousand years, as well as how God saves people in the last days and how He brings the age to an end, and the final destination of humanity, and other things. This lets the Chinese living under the might of the CCP regime see the light, see the hope of receiving salvation, and one after another they have come into the presence of Almighty God. These facts have led the CCP into an extreme panic because the CCP has intense hatred for the truth and fears the true light. It does not recognize God’s existence, and even more so fears that all Chinese people will accept the true way and abandon the CCP. The CCP has seen the fact that the words delivered by Almighty God and the writings bearing witness to the persecution suffered by the chosen people of God at the hands of the CCP have been published in the major media outlets and papers of foreign countries, and all kinds of videos and films that bear witness to God’s work in the last days have also been quickly uploaded to different big foreign websites. The monstrous crimes of the CCP in persecuting and injuring the chosen people of God have been exposed to the whole world. Still more, the CCP is shocked and terrified out of the fear that the people will betray and abandon it once they see through the CCP’s wicked and reactionary essence of denying, resisting, and making an enemy of God. In this state of desperation, the CCP began to frantically counter-attack and has launched unprecedented arrests and persecutions of the Church of Almighty God. This is where the reason lies for the CCP mobilizing armed police and regular troops and frantically arresting and persecuting the chosen people of God.

Now, Almighty God has expressed all the truth for purifying and saving humanity. All of mankind who have conscience and sense of justice are studying and seeking it, and mankind is beginning to awaken. The CCP devil is greatly dismayed and so it has begun its frenzied counter-attack. It regards the Church of Almighty God as the enemy, and blatantly condemns the Church of Almighty God even so far as to enact laws to persecute them. This fact is sufficient to demonstrate the CCP is an evil cult organization to its very core. It is the world’s axis of darkness and evil! In the present world, there is no country which dares to openly and brazenly enact laws convicting any particular religion, or mobilize regular troops to carry out a full-scale attack and persecution. It is only the CCP which defies the world and risks global condemnation. In not even half a year, it has set off a surging tide, each wave higher than the last, of unbridled suppression of the Church of Almighty God. Their methods of repression are constantly escalating. First they intentionally fabricated the “May 28 Shandong Zhaoyuan Case” to frame and discredit the Church of Almighty God. After that, they launched the “Hundred Days Battle” to unleash a “people’s war” to attack the Church of Almighty God, and eagerly enacted laws to convict the Church of Almighty God as an “evil cult organization.” Afterward, they then in their hubris mobilized the armed police and regular troops to enact their bloody suppression of the Church of Almighty God, in a vain attempt to utterly root out the Church of Almighty God. The CCP would never have thought that they would bring shame upon themselves. With each act of force, repression, and cruel persecution of the Church of Almighty God, they allow the people of the world to see more clearly their evil nature and demonic essence of rebelling against Heaven and treating God as their enemy, and see clearly that in the whole world the CCP actually is the most dangerous and evil state organization of terrorism and violence! Two thousand years ago, when the ruler of Israel, King Herod, learned of the birth of Jesus—the King of Israel prophesied in the Scripture, in order to protect his regime, he ordered that all boys under two years of age within Bethlehem must all be killed. Two thousand years later, when the CCP learned of Almighty God incarnate working in China, not only did they frantically pursue Almighty God, they also tried to round up and eliminate all the Christians who follow Almighty God in their entirety. It can be seen that their malignant methods are even worse than those of Herod, the ruler of Israel in history! However, whatever comes from God must flourish and whatever comes from Satan will perish. It will inevitably meet God’s destruction. Only people who accept the work of Almighty God, obey Almighty God, and worship Almighty God will be able to receive salvation and survive.

When the Lord Jesus came to work on earth, He said, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). Now, in the last days, Almighty God has come to earth in order to save mankind, after which the age will come to an end. Because of this, people must all see clearly the nature of the time in which we live. The work of Almighty God in the last days is the last chance for humanity to be saved. Afterward, the age will come to an end. Almighty God has explicitly warned mankind: “We trust that no country or power can stand in the way of what God wishes to achieve. Those that obstruct God’s work, resist the word of God, disturb and impair the plan of God shall ultimately be punished by God. He who defies the work of God shall be sent to hell; any country that defies the work of God shall be destroyed; any nation that rises up to oppose the work of God shall be wiped from this earth, and shall cease to exist. As the proverb says, “Good is repaid with good, evil with evil.” The evil, barbarity, fanaticism, and brutality of the CCP have already reached the condition of a great outbreak of hysteria! They act perversely and contrary to God, they publicly resist and oppose God. They have already incited the anger of Heaven and the people, while God and man are together in their resentment, and they have long since suffered the curse of God. In the Age of Grace, all those who had hatred for the Lord Jesus and who took the Lord Jesus as their enemy met with ruin. This is a fact. In the Age of Kingdom, everyone who has hatred for Almighty God and takes Almighty God as their enemy will meet with ruin just as before and suffer eternal damnation. As God destroyed the ancient Roman regime in the Age of Grace that took the Lord Jesus to be their enemy, He will certainly in the same way destroy the atheist regime of the CCP in the last days that takes Almighty God as their enemy. This suffices to prove that God’s disposition does not tolerate any offense, and this is a truth that is eternal and unchanging! But actually, this word is contrary to the real facts, and it overlooks the context of the Revelation and relies on man’s imagination and notions.

In the Holy Bible, the Book of Revelation comes from John the Apostle after he was banished by the Roman emperor to the island of Patmos. It is an account of all the visions he witnessed while imprisoned. It was sometime shortly after 90 A.D., before the New Testament had been laid out, before the completion of the New and Old Testaments. So, when this book is mentioned in Revelation 22:18-19, it absolutely does not refer to the complete Bible of today, nor is it referring to the Old Testament, rather, it is referring just to the Book of Revelation. In the Scripture it says that “if people do certain things to these prophecies.” And it does not mean to do things to the Bible. These people taking this book as today’s Bible have an issue with acceptance. We ought to pay attention to what has been added to or taken away from the Scripture by man, and this does not include God Himself, because these prophecies deal with the work that God will carry out in the future, they can only be proven to be true when God comes to carry out His work. So, man cannot add to or take away from this as he wishes. We cannot limit God’s work in the last days to the prophesies in Revelation because of these two lines of the Scripture, nor can we delimit God to the point where He is not able to carry out work that is not prophesied in the book of prophecy. Since God is the Creator, He is in charge of all things. He has total authority to carry out His own work outside of what is prophesied. This is something that cannot be blocked by any of His creation and cannot be delimited by anybody. In Deuteronomy 12:32 in the Old Testament it says: “What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.” When the Lord Jesus was carrying out His work in the Age of Grace, many of the laws and decrees set forth by Jehovah in the Old Testament were added to or diminished. For example, in the Age of Law it demanded of men that they take an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but when the Lord Jesus arrived He said that you need not set yourself against evil men, even if someone strikes you on the right side of your face and then you turn and have them strike you on the left side of your face; the law dictated that you must hate your enemy, but the Lord Jesus said to love your enemy, and made people pray to this effect (See Mat 5:38-44). Through these examples we can see that in the eyes of those who abided by these laws, the things that Jesus did and said went beyond the law, He added things that went outside of the law. As a result, the Jews took the laws of Jehovah to condemn the Lord Jesus (See Jhn 19:7). You could say that this was an expression of man’s lack of reason, and man should not take God’s word where He requests man not to add nor diminish and turn this around to restrict God. Man should not use God’s old work that He carried out in the past to delimit His new work being carried out now. God is the Master of all creation. God carries out work according to His own management plan, His own free will. No matter how God carries out His work it is always righteous, because God’s essence is righteous; no matter how God carries out His work it is always the truth, because God’s essence is the truth; no matter how God carries out His work it is always able to bring life to those who believe in Him, because God’s essence is the source of life. God’s work, God’s word absolutely cannot be restricted by people, events, objects, place or time, much less be restricted by the letters of the Scripture. Almighty God says: “The work done by Jesus during the time of the New Testament opened up new work: He did not work according to the work of the Old Testament, nor did He apply the words spoken by Jehovah of the Old Testament. He did His own work, and He did newer work, and work that was higher than the law. Thus, He said: ‘Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.’ Thus, in accordance with what He accomplished, much doctrine was broken with. He took the disciples to the grain fields to pick and eat the heads of grain, He did not keep the Sabbath, and said ‘the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.’ At the time, according to the rules of the Israelites, whosoever didn’t keep the Sabbath would be stoned to death. Jesus, however, neither entered the temple nor kept the Sabbath, and His work had not been done by Jehovah during the time of the Old Testament. Thus, the work done by Jesus exceeded the law of the Old Testament, it was higher than it, and was not in accordance with it” (“Concerning the Bible (1)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). The word of God enables us to know that in Revelation where it says not to add nor diminish that was God’s requirement to man. Man cannot take this requirement that God has of him and turn it around and put it on God, nor can man use the letters and regulations of the Bible to restrict and limit God or not allow Him to carry out new work or say things that go beyond the Bible. For if this were so, wouldn’t these things turn the world upside down, confusing cause and effect? The Book of Revelation comes from all of the visions witnessed by John after being moved by the Holy Spirit. At that time God had not yet carried out His work of the last days, so all that man had received was just God’s prophecies. But when God appears in the last days to carry out His work, His word becomes fact, and the prophecies also become true. In Revelation 5: 1-5 it says: “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders said to me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” These scriptures tell us that in the right hand of the One sitting on the throne there is a scroll that is sealed with seven seals. The One sitting at the throne is of course God, and the seals illustrate that the information contained in this scroll must be kept secret from man for a period of time, that he cannot know about it, that its mystery must be maintained. So who is able to unfold this scroll and uncover the mystery? “The Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David.” These words make it very easy for us to understand or think about the Lord Jesus. The first time that Jesus became flesh was in the tribe of Juda, and His flesh belonged to the Root of David. But in His thirty-three and a half years on earth, the only disposition that Jesus revealed was that of the lamb. Very rarely did He possess the wrath and majesty of the lion, and it is based on this point that people have difficulty with confirming that this lion is referring to Jesus. But in the following sentence it says He has triumphed, which makes us convinced that this lion is referring to Jesus. Jesus was nailed to the cross for mankind, He surmounted death and defeated Satan, becoming the triumphant King. This line from the Scripture definitively tells us that the Lord Jesus was triumphant, that only He can open the scroll, that only He can break open those seven seals. The Jesus that is being talked about here is the Lord Jesus who returns in the flesh in the last days. The Lord who returns at this time expresses a disposition like that of the lion. He is full of majesty and wrath. He breaks the seals from the scroll in the last days (the scroll of course contains the word of God), and He will speak in His own words to the people, carrying out the work of judgment beginning with the house of God, for He is no longer the Lamb who was nailed to the cross to atone for man’s sins. He is no longer led along and ordered about by man. When this time comes He will make known to all of mankind every secret contained in the scroll, which will allow man to understand the mysteries of the spiritual world, and God’s management plan for mankind, and his own nature and substance, and God’s righteous disposition, the principles of God’s work, and the wisdom and almightiness of God; this will allow man to find the right path to go down, the path that leads to the entrance into the kingdom of heaven, the path that will allow man to separate himself from injustice and gain purification. This is all God’s work in the last days. This is the new work of Almighty God in the last days that we are all experiencing right now. Revelation 10:1-4: “And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was on his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot on the sea, and his left foot on the earth, And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.” These lines from the Scripture allow us to know that the voices of the seven thunders were not written by John. In other words, in the Bible there simply is not the voices of the seven thunders. In summary of these two lines from the Scripture, the details of this little book and the voices of the seven thunders are not recorded in the Bible. From this it can be seen that if man were to use the words about adding or diminishing to delimit God’s work, and delimit God to where He couldn’t have new things to say that go beyond the Bible, then how could this little book be opened? How could God carry out judgment in the last days? If God did not open this little book, how could man know the details of this little book? How could he understand all the truths and mysteries? How could man know what the details are of the voices of the seven thunders? And then how could the prophecies in the Bible be proven to be true? From this it’s clear to see that God must have new work to carry out and new words to say in the last days. Only then can all of the prophecies in the Bible be proven to be true. Today, Almighty God has come, expressing the words of life and the truths and mysteries that man has not understood for generations past, thus fulfilling the prophecies in Revelation. These truly are the voices of the seven thunders, and the lamb opening the scroll. This has already become an irrefutable fact! Almighty God says: “Those who obey the truth and submit to the work of God shall come under the name of the second incarnate God—the Almighty. They will be able to accept the personal guidance of God, and shall acquire more and higher truth and receive the real human life. They shall behold the vision that people of the past have never seen: ‘And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the middle of the seven candlesticks one like to the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the breasts with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like to fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength’ (Revelation 1:12-16). This vision is the expression of God’s entire disposition, and such an expression of His entire disposition is also the expression of the work of God when He becomes flesh this time. In the torrents of chastisements and judgments, the Son of man expresses His inherent disposition through the speaking of words, allowing all those who accept His chastisement and judgment to see the true face of the Son of man, a face that is a faithful depiction of the face of the Son of man seen by John. (Of course, all this will be invisible to those who do not accept the work of God in the Age of Kingdom)” (Preface to The Word Appears in the Flesh).

We absolutely cannot continue to go down the old path of the Pharisees as God carries out His work in the last days. We cannot think, because God’s work and word in the last days are not recorded in the Bible, that these are additions. We must know that the work and word of Almighty God in the last days are not additions to the Bible, but rather they are the prophecies of Revelation coming about as predicted. It’s like in the Old Testament when it was prophesied that the Messiah would come. In the minds of the Israelites they all knew He would come to save them, and they also knew that a virgin female was pregnant with a child, and He was named Emanuel, who was to be a sin offering, among other things. However, as for the specifics on how He would come, and when He came how He would be a sin offering, they were not clear about these things. Moreover, these prophecies were just words, they were not facts that had already come about. But when Jesus came to carry out His work, all of the prophecies related to the Messiah that were recorded in the Old Testament were proven to be true, so then can we say that the New Testament (that is, the work of Jesus) is an addition to the prophecies in the Old Testament? Of course it’s not. Although when Jesus was carrying out His new work it did not conform to the Old Testament in the eyes of people of that time, nor did it conform to people’s notions, nor was it the same as the work and word of Jehovah, yet, what Jesus did was not diminishing or adding to the law, rather it was perfecting the law. The work of Jesus was a new stage of work being carried out on the foundation of the work from the Age of Law, it perfected the law, it gave man new things to put into practice, and a new understanding of God. It’s just as the Lord Jesus said: “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill” (Mat 5:17). Since the work of Jesus in the New Testament was not recorded in detail in the Old Testament, people thought that the work of Jesus went beyond the law of the Old Testament and added new commandments. However, in the eyes of God, He was just carrying out the work in His plan. The work of Jesus was a new stage of work being carried out on the foundation of the work from the Age of Law, it was an improved form of work, it accomplished the prophecies of the prophet. In the same way, God’s work in the last days shall accomplish the prophecy of the New Testament, it is the third stage of work based on God’s work of redemption. Can we say that this is adding to the Bible? Hasn’t the Bible already told us the answer to this question: “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come” (Jhn 16:12-13). This stage of work by God in the last days fulfills the truth of these lines of the Scripture. The word of God in the last days has already revealed to man mysteries that were concealed for generations past, and it has brought us many truths that we had never before had access to. It has given us a path to being cleansed, a path that will allow us to enter into the kingdom. The work of Almighty God in the last days is the newest stage of work based on the two stages of work carried out by Jehovah and Jesus, and it is an improved form of work from the previous two stages.

Almighty God says: “The work done by Jesus was merely a stage higher than the Old Testament; it was used to begin an age, and to lead that age. Why did He say, ‘I have not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill’? Yet in His work there was much which differed from the laws practiced and the commandments followed by the Israelites of the Old Testament, for He did not come to obey the law, but to fulfill it. The process of fulfilling it included many actual things: His work was more practical and real, and, furthermore, it was alive, and not the blind adherence to doctrine. Did the Israelites not keep the Sabbath? When Jesus came He did not observe the Sabbath, for He said that the Son of man was the Lord of the Sabbath, and when the Lord of the Sabbath arrived, He would do as He wished. He had come to fulfill the laws of the Old Testament and to change the laws. All that is done today is based upon the present, yet it still rests upon the foundation of the work of Jehovah in the Age of Law, and does not transgress this scope. To watch your tongue, and not commit adultery, for example—are these not the laws of the Old Testament? Today, what is required of you is not only limited to the Ten Commandments, but are commandments and laws that are higher than those of before, yet this does not mean that what came before has been abolished, for each stage of God’s work is carried out upon the foundation of the stage that came before. That which Jehovah introduced to Israel, such as giving sacrifice, honoring your father and mother, not worshiping idols, not assaulting others, not cursing others, not committing adultery, not smoking, not drinking, not eating the dead, and not drinking blood, is it not the foundation for your practice even today? It is upon the foundation of the past that the work has been carried out up until today. Though the laws of the past are no longer mentioned, and new requirements have been made of you, these laws have not been abolished, and instead, they have been uplifted. To say that they have been abolished means that the previous age is outdated, yet there are some commandments that you must always honor. The commandments of the past have already been put into practice, have already become the being of man, and there is no need to reiterate commandments to not smoke, not drink, and so on. Upon this foundation, new commandments are laid down according to your needs today, according to your stature, and according to the work of today. Decreeing commandments for the new age does not mean abolishing the commandments of the old age, but lifting them higher upon this foundation, to make the actions of man more complete, and more in line with reality” (“The Vision of God’s Work (1)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). The word of God allows us to see that God’s work stage by stage really is its own complete entity. Each stage of work is based on the previous stage of work, and each stage is an improved form from the previous stage. We cannot split apart the work of God, to know God we must know God’s three stages of work. If we only know one or two of the three stages of work, then we will not have a comprehensive and complete understanding of God’s work of saving mankind. Only by knowing all three stages of God’s work can we know God’s entire disposition, and His wisdom and wondrousness. As an example, it’s like a person who gets full after eating three bowls of rice. This person couldn’t say they are full just from eating the third bowl. If they did not finish eating the first and second bowl then they would not be filled with the rice from these two bowls, so they could not be filled by the rice from the third bowl. Therefore, we cannot say that the work of Jesus is adding to or diminishing the Old Testament, and in the same way we cannot take the work and word of Almighty God in the last days and say that this is adding to or diminishing the New and Old Testaments. It would be absurd to accept such ideas.

Brothers and sisters, what is recorded in the Bible is just the work that God carried out in the Age of Law and the Age of Grace, as well as prophecies pertaining to God’s work in the last days, but it is not recorded in detail how this work in the last days will be carried out, or how mankind will be saved. So, we must view the Bible properly. When God has not come we must act in accordance with the teachings of the Bible. This is a requirement that God has of us that we must attain. But, when God opens up a new age to carry out new work, then we must carry out our actions in accordance with God’s current requirements, for only by following the footsteps of God will we be able to gain His praise. We cannot use the work that has been carried out by God that is recorded in the Bible to delimit God’s new work, much less say that God’s new work and new words diminishes the Bible, nor can we say that God’s work and word in the last days add things that go beyond the Bible. God was able to go beyond the law of the Old Testament to carry out His work in the time of the New Testament, and in the same way He can also go beyond the Bible to carry out His work in the last days. In the last days, the words expressed by Almighty God guide us to enter into all truths, so we can no longer refuse to accept God’s work and word in the last days with stiff necks. Brothers and sisters, we all must set aside our notions, and seek and study the work and word of God in the last days while keeping reverence for Him in our hearts, for God will enlighten us, allowing us to come to understand all truths. Let us follow the example of the disciples who came before us who followed Jesus, let us walk away from the Bible and follow the work that God is currently carrying out so that we may attain the salvation that we have looked forward to for so long!

Whenever they hear someone talking about Almighty God’s gospel of the last days, many brothers and sisters within the church are unable to listen and don’t dare accept what is said because they have been startled by sensationalized rumor. They might hear someone say: “Those who believe in Almighty God are really something, you’ll be deceived if you get in contact with them. There are many true believers among every religious sect and they have good inner qualities, they are lambs who love the truth but they are being stolen by believers in Almighty God …” Or someone has said: “The believers in Almighty God are really enthusiastic about spreading the gospel. If they convert a believer they receive a prize of 2,000 RMB (about 300 dollars), if they convert a church leader they can get 10,000 to 20,000 RMB (about 1,500 to 3,000 dollars) …” And still others have said: “They don’t have very good boundaries between men and women and they are all very promiscuous …” And still others have said: “The Eastern Lightning is a criminal organization. If you get involved with them you’ll never escape. If you do, they’ll gouge out your eyes and cut off your ears, or they’ll break your legs …” etc., etc. It is rumors like these that make some brothers and sisters who are not clear on the facts delay or even refuse God’s salvation of the last days. I do not know if any brothers or sisters within the church have earnestly thought about or studied whether or not these things that are said match up with the facts; is there any factual basis? Have you ever thought about what sort of dire consequences there will be if you believe all the rumors you hear and persist in doing things the wrong way? For now, we need not discuss who the source of these rumors is or why they would deliberately fabricate these things. Instead, we will first have a simple fellowship about these rumors so we can enable our brothers and sisters to clearly see the substance of these rumors.
