Repeating What the Leaders Say Harms Others and Ourselves

I was formerly a leader in charge of twenty-one churches in the “Hua Xuehe sect.” Before I accepted the true way, because I believed in my leader’s words, I resisted Almighty God’s work very fiercely and regarded the brothers and sisters who believed in Almighty God as enemies. Thinking of my past doings of resisting Almighty God, I’m bitterly remorseful!

At the end of 1998, when the gospel of Almighty God’s work of the last days was preached to our city, our upper leader immediately came to seal off the churches, and he told us, “The ‘Eastern Lightning’ is a heresy, a cult. Their preaching is very high. Whoever has contact with them will be deceived at once. Moreover, they don’t read the Bible anymore. They are not believers in God at all… None of you should receive them lest you be deceived.” After hearing these words, I believed them to be true, and I thought to myself, “They believe in God but don’t read the Bible; are they believers in God? They’re surely deceivers!” So I rushed about the churches, conveying the leader’s words as if they were a royal edict… As a result, many brothers and sisters shut the door as soon as they saw the preachers of God’s gospel of the last days, avoiding them like a plague, not daring to have contact with them.

From then on, at every meeting, we first sang two songs and then began to give false testimonies or tell about how the brothers and sisters in some churches beat and swore away the people of the “Eastern Lightning” and how faithful they were to the Lord, or said that we should also take some effective measures to deal with the preachers of Almighty God and only by doing so would we be a faithful believer to the Lord, and that if anyone didn’t listen to the warnings and was deceived, no one could save him and he could only suffer the consequences of his own deeds and deserved it and shouldn’t blame others when he was punished.

In April of 1999, I went to work in a church. When I entered the host home, I saw two strangers talking to the host sister. Seeing me coming in, they immediately got up and greeted me. At first I thought they were the sister’s relatives, but later when I knew that they were preachers of Almighty God, my eyes blazed with anger, and I shouted, “Get out! What cheek! This is God’s church, not the place for you. Get out of here, the farther the better! Or I won’t be so easy on you!” As I said this, I took up a shoe to slap the sisters’ faces… After driving them out, I told the brothers and sisters, “You mustn’t receive them again. What do you know? Once you fall into their trap, it will be too late to repent! Our leader says that whoever comes into contact with them can never expect to get rid of them.” The brothers and sisters were frightened into silence by my words. I thought that the two sisters would learn a lesson and not come again, but they kept coming there. Later I threw their bicycles on the ground and broke them, but they came on foot. I was stunned!

One day in January 2000, Sister Zhou, once a leader in our church, came to my home (She had accepted Almighty God and preached the gospel to me seven times). As soon as she entered the room, I went out without saying anything. I thought to myself, “You will go away if I ignore you and am not at home.” Ten minutes later, I went back and eavesdropped. I heard she was speaking to my son, “Is this story good?” My son clapped his hands and said, “Great! Great! The deer and the monkey are too silly. They believe whatever the rabbits say. Luckily, Uncle OX has his own mind, or many more small animals will suffer…” As she was leaving, she turned around and said to my son, “Don’t forget to tell this story to your mum!” At that time, I entered the room and said angrily, “I won’t listen to any lousy story of yours. Go, go, go, go quickly! Don’t bother me anymore!” After saying this, I pulled her out. Outside the door, she still told my son to remember to tell me that story. I slammed the door and began to scold my son, “Who let you speak to that bad woman?” My son cried. Then I coaxed him but it didn’t work. In the end, he made a bargain with me: I must allow him to tell the story to me. I had no way but agreed with him reluctantly. So he told the story to me from beginning to end: Once upon a time, there was a papaya tree by a lake. In fall, a papaya was ripe. Plop! It fell into the water. Hearing the sound, three rabbits eating grass by the lake were so frightened that they started running. As they ran, they shouted, ‘Terrible! ‘Plop’ is coming, run quickly!” They met deer, monkeys, giraffes, wild boars, and other small animals on the way. When they heard the rabbits’ words, they all cried out, ‘‘‘Plop’ is coming!” They fled in all directions. When an old ox heard this, he asked them, “Who saw ‘Plop’? What does ‘Plop’ look like? Why are you so frightened?” Everyone was stunned, and they all said, “We didn’t see it. The rabbits said so.” The rabbits were dumb, for they didn’t see “Plop” either, but only heard the sound of “Plop” and then started running. In the end, the old ox led the small animals to find out the truth: Actually, a papaya was ripe and fell into the water. That caused a false alarm… After I heard this story, I blushed and understood why Sister Zhou again and again told my son to tell it to me. I was very ashamed, thinking, “God gave me a brain; why don’t I use it? How could I be like those ignorant small animals? I didn’t discern what the leader said and repeated it, having no view of my own. If the ‘Eastern Lightning’ is the true way, so many brothers and sisters will be harmed by me. I can’t be muddled like this anymore. I must find out the truth and then draw a conclusion.” Thinking of this, I began to regret what I had done before.

The next evening, while our family were having dinner, Sister Zhou came with another sister. This time I changed my attitude and received them warmly. We had a pleasant fellowship that night. Through the sister’s fellowship and God’s words, the doubts and misconceptions in my mind were removed. During our fellowship, I raised my biggest question, “Why don’t you read the Bible? Is one believing in God if he leaves the Bible?” The sister fellowshipped, “People all regard the Bible as a heavenly book and even equate it with God. Actually, that’s absolutely wrong. If we want to be clear about this, we have to know the inside truth of the Bible. First let’s look at what God says about it.” As she spoke, she took out the book of God’s word and read these words to me: “For centuries, conventional religious belief (belief of Christianity among the world’s three major religions) has emphasized reading the Bible. Departing from the Bible amounts to not believing in the Lord; to do so is cult, heresy. Any other book that one reads must be one that explicates the Bible. That is to say, if you claim to believe in the Lord, you must read the Bible, must eat and drink it, and not venerate any other books that do not pertain to it; otherwise, you are betraying God. … And so people have come to worship the Bible as if it were God, to see it as their own lifeblood; without it, they seem to have no life. … People’s attitude toward the Bible is one of ‘obsession’ and ‘faith’; no one is completely clear on its true story and substance.” (from “Concerning the Bible (1)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) “It is merely a historical record of God’s work, and a testimony to the first two stages of God’s work, and you cannot understand the purpose of God’s work from it. … The Old Testament of the Bible records the history of Israel and shows how Jehovah did His work from the creation of the world to the end of the Age of Law. The New Testament records Jesus’ work on earth, which is in the Four Gospels, as well as the work of Paul. Are these not all historical records? Anything that happened in the past is history today, no matter how true, how real; and history cannot address the present. For God does not look back! So if you understand only the Bible but not the work that God plans to do now, if you believe in God but do not seek out the work of the Holy Spirit, then you do not know what it means to seek after God.” (from “Concerning the Bible (4)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) Hearing these words, I was greatly surprised: Who can explain the inside truth of the Bible so thoroughly? Who can know man’s heart so clearly? Am I not treating the Bible in this way? What the Bible records is indeed the history and are the things that happened thousands of years ago. Is this really God’s work?

Noticing that my attitude had changed, the sister continued, “Let’s read the Lord Jesus’ words in the Bible. John 5:38-40 says, ‘And you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he has sent, him you believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And you will not come to me, that you might have life.’ From these words we can also know that the Bible cannot give man life, because only God is the source of man’s life. From the Bible we can only know about the history of the two stages of work that God has done before, but the Bible doesn’t record the facts of God’s work in the last days. The Bible only prophesies that the Lord Jesus will come again, but concerning how He will do His work when He comes, men cannot know it no matter how many times they read the Bible, for the Bible doesn’t speak about it, and it will become clear to them only after the facts are fulfilled. The Lord Jesus has returned in the flesh in China and has personally uttered His voice, judging all nations and all people with His word and opening the scroll and breaking the seven seals, which has fulfilled the word in the Revelation, ‘He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ This is God’s present work. Only if we keep up with God’s present work and receive the chastisement and judgment of God’s word can we completely be purified and cast off the corrupt dispositions that Satan has planted in us and become a holy person, and in the end enter into God’s kingdom and inherit God’s promise to us.” After listening to the sister’s fellowship and pondering over God’s explanation about the inside truth of the Bible, I was like waking from a dream: In the past, I always thought that as long as I held on to the Bible, I would gain life. But actually the Bible is only a testimony to God. Only if we keep up with God’s present work will we be able to gain life, and only God can give man life. The Bible has long spoken about this clearly, but I knew nothing about it though I held the Bible in my hands every day, and I even used the Bible to measure God’s work blindly. God’s work is so wise! Man really can’t fathom it. Afterward, the sister read a few more passages of God’s word to me. The more I heard God’s words, the more I became clear within, and the more I felt thirsty. I thought, “This is indeed God’s personal utterance. Almighty God is precisely the Lord Jesus who has come the second time!”

After I followed Almighty God, I recalled what I had done and regretted it bitterly. “I beat and abused the brothers and sisters who preached the gospel. Did I have any humanity? Was I like a believer in God? Why didn’t I investigate or discern carefully but instead believed the leaders’ rumors blindly at that time? I’m really a foolish person without my own mind. Not only did I myself miss two years but I also hindered so many brothers and sisters from accepting the true way.” Thinking of these, I hated myself for having a muddled head. Formerly I had thought that I was a person who had a ground and had discernment. Today I saw that I was a fool without my own mind. I really hated myself for blindly believing the leader’s words and resisting the coming of the true God.

God says: “If, in the pursuit of God, man does not have his own position to stand by, and does not know what truth he should hold to, then he will have no foundation, and so it will not be easy for him to stand firm. Today, there are so many who do not understand the truth, who cannot distinguish between good and evil or tell what to love or hate. Such people can hardly stand firm. … You always parrot the words of others, and are incapable of distinguishing anything by yourself, nor are you able to think for yourself. This is someone without a position, who is unable to differentiate—such a person is a worthless wretch! … It is actually the work of the Holy Spirit, but you say it is the work of man; have you not become one of those who blaspheme against the work of the Holy Spirit? In this, have you not opposed God because you cannot differentiate?”

Right! Because of not having my own mind, I repeated what others said and did many things that resisted God. To make up for my indebtedness to God and diminish my sins, I at once told the truth to the brothers and sisters. Unexpectedly, none of them dared to seek or investigate the true way, because they believed the rumors I hammered into them and were poisoned by them too seriously. When I went to fellowship with them from door to door, I was repaid with these words, “At that time, you didn’t allow us to listen, but now you are deceived. Who will believe you? Go away! …” Seeing this, I even more hated myself and knew that I had committed heinous sins and deserved to be punished and cursed! They treated me like that, and it was the retribution I deserved and the consequence I should suffer!

Brothers and sisters of all denominations and sects, from my own experience, we can see how harmful it is to repeat what others say and how injurious the rumors from the leaders are! Pharisees shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; they neither go in themselves, nor did they let those go in who are trying to. Now, aren’t most of our leaders like this? We blindly believe them and repeat what they say, which as a result harms both ourselves and the brothers and sisters. This is a painful lesson I zhave drawn from my experience. I sincerely hope that the brothers and sisters who haven’t accepted Almighty God will stop believing the rumors from your leaders. God’s work among men is about to end. Please cherish the last short period of time, and reject the rumors from your leaders quickly and seek and investigate the true way! If we are too obstinate to be awakened, what awaits us will be a more severe curse and punishment than what the Pharisees received. Won’t it be too late to regret then?

Blessed Are They Which Are Persecuted For Righteousness’ Sake

The last days’ gospel of Almighty God is spreading in Mainland China like rolling thunders and surging waves. It has shaken the whole religious community and has at the same time been condemned and rejected by all denominations of the religious community and persecuted by the kings of the world. Many people with ulterior motives disregard the truth. They fabricate rumors as they desire and spread slander against Almighty God to obstruct the spread of the last days’ gospel of Almighty God. Some brothers and sisters who do not know the truth think that since it is the true way it should not be persecuted. Here I will talk about my understanding of the viewpoint “If it is the true way it cannot be persecuted.” I would also like to get guidance from the brothers and sisters from all denominations.

We must talk about this issue from the Lord Jesus first.

We all know that the Lord Jesus has taken the bloody road of all kinds of persecution in order to fulfill God the Father’s commission and save people from their sins. From Jesus’ birth, He was hunted down by Herod the King and forced to flee to Egypt. Herod the Great was consumed with hatred for the arrival of God and laid murderous hands on Jesus. In order to keep his throne he had baby boys killed who were under two years of age in Bethlehem and its vicinity…. The Lord Jesus said: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Mat 5:10-12). From this passage of the words of the Lord Jesus, we can see that suffering abuse or persecution because of our faith in God is a blessing. If other people concoct all kinds of bad words to slander us, we should not be distressed or doubt God’s way and work because we are persecuted. Instead we should rejoice in being slandered and persecuted because we are blessed and God’s reward is great. Our persecution proves even more so that we believe in the true God and that what we uphold is the true way. Almighty God says: “Among you, there is not one man who receives the protection of the law; rather, you are penalized by the law, and the greater difficulty is that no man understands you, be it your relatives, your parents, your friends, or your colleagues. None understand you. When God rejects you, there is no way for you to continue living on earth. However, even so, people cannot bear to leave God; this is the significance of God’s conquest of people, and this is God’s glory.” “This is just as in the stage of Jesus’ work; He could only be glorified among those Pharisees who persecuted Him. If not for such persecution and the betrayal of Judas, Jesus would not have been ridiculed or slandered, much less crucified, and thus could never have gained glory” (“Is the Work of God So Simple as Man Imagines?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). God’s work and words tells us that God’s wisdom is exercised based on Satan’s plots. In people’s eyes, the Lord Jesus suffered all kinds of persecution and adversity and finally He was crucified on the cross. Seemingly, the work failed. But it is through the Lord Jesus’ crucifixion that God’s work of redeeming mankind was accomplished and we sinners were redeemed. Today, God’s work of conquering the whole of mankind in the last days has similarly been rejected and persecuted, but in the same way, God will gain a group of people who obey His work, will cleanse a group of people who have been deeply corrupted by Satan and will accomplish His final stage of work of separating the sheep from goats, wheat from weeds through the rejection of the religious community and the persecution of the kings of the world.

Think back to those foreign missionaries who came to China to preach the gospel in the past. Who welcomed them? Who supported them? In the same way, they also sowed the seeds of the gospel in China with their own blood and even their own lives. The missionaries suffered persecution in the same way. Can we say that what they preached was not the true way? There are many examples recorded in the Bible of the persecution of the true way: The Pharaoh of Egypt hindered Moses from leading Israelites out of Egypt. The Pharisees persecuted the Lord Jesus. These few incidents are enough to prove that the persecution of the true way is something that has existed since time immemorial. Therefore, it is not so strange or incredible that today God is rejected and persecuted again by corrupt mankind when He comes into flesh the second time in the last days to completely save mankind. We have no reason to reject the appearance and work of Almighty God and even reject the true way because it has been persecuted. The first time God became flesh, He was born as Jesus in Judea, a nation of faith in God. However, as soon as Jesus was born, He was hunted by Herod the Great and in the end betrayed by Judas and crucified by the Jewish Pharisees. Today, God has become flesh again in China—a country where God is hated as an enemy; how can it allow God to exist? The Chinese Communist Party has also resorted to the same unscrupulous measures to persecute and hunt Christ for its dictatorship. The priests and elders of the religious community, because they hate the truth, have resorted to even more unscrupulous measures to resist and persecute, wantonly abuse and blaspheme God and have beaten and cursed brothers and sisters who are spreading the gospel of the kingdom and even sent them to the local authorities in order to safeguard their status and jobs. What is the difference between them and those priests, scribes and the Pharisees who persecuted the Lord Jesus and His disciples? From the persecution and adversity that God has suffered during His two incarnations, we see that God’s work, the true way, must suffer persecution. Jesus said: “If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also” (Jhn 15:18-20). God’s work of the last days is to completely save corrupt mankind from Satan’s grasp. Satan is unwilling to admit itself outdone, so it frenziedly resists, condemns and blasphemes God and persecutes those who follow God, with the objective being to suppress God’s last days’ work and stop people returning to God, so that mankind will always be controlled by its hands, letting it corrupt and devour them. So the spiritual battle in the last days is fiercer than God’s battle with Satan the first time He became flesh, because God wants to completely defeat Satan and finish His work of saving mankind. Is this kind of spiritual battle something that we created beings can see clearly just by a glance?

Dear brothers and sisters, we can see from the words of Almighty God above and the facts of God’s work that wherever there is God’s work, there is Satan’s obstruction and persecution. Almighty God is Jehovah of the Age of Law and also the Lord Jesus of the Age of Grace and even more so the gateway by which people of the last days can enter the kingdom of heaven and the bearer of God’s work of the last days. God is calling upon every one of us who longs for Him to appear and can accept the truth to enter His kingdom because His intention is to save people to the utmost extent. There are many true believers from every denomination who are good sheep and even bellwethers of good caliber, but they are being stolen by believers in Almighty God….” Or some have said: “The believers in Almighty God are really enthusiastic about spreading the gospel. If they convert a believer they receive a prize of 2,000 RMB, if they convert a church leader they can get 10,000 to 20,000 RMB….” And still others have said: “They don’t maintain good boundaries between men and women—they are all very promiscuous….” Some have even said: “Eastern Lightning is a criminal underworld organization. If you get involved with them, you’ll never escape. If you try, they’ll gouge out your eyes and cut off your ears, or they’ll break your legs….” and so on, and so forth. It is rumors like these that stop some brothers and sisters who are not clear on the facts from seeking and studying Almighty God’s work of the last days. Brothers and sisters who believe the rumors, have you earnestly considered or investigated whether there is any basis for these things, and if they are in line with the facts? Have you ever thought about what sort of dire consequences there will be if you blindly believe all the rumors you hear and miss the opportunity to welcome the Lord’s arrival? For now, we will first have a simple fellowship on these rumors so that our brothers and sisters can clearly see their substance, and have clear discernment regarding who is really spreading them, what the motivations are behind their fabrication, and what goal they want to achieve.

The rumor goes: “Those who believe in Almighty God are really something—you’ll be taken in as soon as you have contact with them. There are many true believers from every denomination who are good sheep and even bellwethers of good caliber, but they are being stolen by believers in Almighty God.…” Today, most of the believers in Almighty God do indeed come from many different denominations and among them, a great many are those from their denominations that have caliber, insight, and are dedicated seekers, but saying that they are all taken in is malicious slander, pure and simple. Just think about it: Could so many devout people all be deceived who come from various denominations to accept Almighty God’s work of the last days? Does it make sense that they’d be believers for so many years and know the Bible well without having some discernment? Even people are deceived, they could only be those who are not seekers, those who eat the loaves and are filled, and those who are muddled in their faith. How is it even possible that so many seekers and so many with sincere faith in God have been deceived? As everyone knows, it was prophesied in the Bible long ago that God would come in the last days “like a thief” to “steal” treasures, that He would “steal” those who are “treasures.” This means that all of those who are “stolen” are of good caliber, they can understand and accept the truth, and know God’s voice. Those who have been “stolen” are all good sheep and the Lord’s return is to save and perfect them. It is clear that being “stolen” is actually being raptured to meet the Lord. Those with true faith in the Lord from different denominations read Almighty God’s words, and see that He has unveiled the mysteries of God’s management plan for saving mankind as well as the relationship between the Age of Law, the Age of Grace, the Age of Kingdom (the three stages of God’s work), the truth and inside story of the Bible, the significance of God’s work of judgment in the last days, how God classifies people according to their kind and determines their outcome, and finally how God will bring the age to an end and how Christ’s kingdom will be realized. Seeing these, they are able to confirm in their hearts that this is the voice of God, and that Almighty God’s words are what was prophesied several times in Revelation: “what the Spirit says to the churches.” It is all the truth, and they have recognized that Almighty God is the returned Lord Jesus and so have turned toward Him, one by one. If it weren’t God’s appearance and work, who else would have the authority and power to conquer brothers and sisters from all denominations and have all faiths become one? It is because Almighty God is the Lord Jesus, who has returned and who has appeared and works in the last days, that those true seekers of God have heard God’s voice and seen God’s appearance and so they accept the work of Almighty God in the last days. Who wouldn’t want to be a wise virgin and follow the footsteps of the Lamb? This is the reason so many seekers from different denominations have accepted Almighty God’s work of the last days. The idea that people who have accepted Almighty God’s work of the last days are deceived is clearly an outright lie, it is defamatory, and it is blasphemous to God.

Some people have said: “The believers in Almighty God are really enthusiastic about “I am the holy God Himself, I cannot be sullied, and I cannot possess an unclean temple” (“The One Hundred and Ninth Utterance” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). And the regulation is very clear in “The Ten Administrative Decrees That Must Be Obeyed by God’s Chosen People in the Age of Kingdom”: “Man has corrupt disposition and, moreover, he is possessed of emotions. As such, it is absolutely prohibited for two members of the opposite sex to work together when serving God. Any who are discovered doing so will be expelled, without exception—and no one is exempt.” the gospel. If they convert a believer they receive a prize of 2,000 RMB, if they convert a church leader they can get 10,000 to 20,000 RMB….” Within this lie, it is mentioned that believers in Almighty God are very enthusiastic about spreading the gospel of Almighty God. While this part is indeed factual, the rest about being bribed with money to spread His gospel and about their enthusiasm being driven by personal benefit, is purely fabricated nonsense and a defamatory rumor. The fact is, believers in Almighty God who spread His gospel do not receive an award of any kind. On the contrary, they spend their own savings to do so, and sometimes all they have. The reason they are so enthusiastic is not because they are bribed with money, rather, it’s because they have understood the truth from Almighty God’s words, truly seen the appearance of God, received His great salvation, experienced God’s love, and felt God’s eagerness to save people. Therefore, they are willing to spend all they have and endure any hardship or humiliation to spread the gospel of God’s kingdom. They are just like the original disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, who heard the voice of God through Jesus’ work and words, recognized that the Lord Jesus was the Messiah they had been waiting for, and saw that He was willing to sacrifice Himself to save mankind, to be crucified. God’s love is so great, so real! Moved by the Holy Spirit, spurred on by God’s love, they were willing to give up homes and careers and to withstand all kinds of oppression and difficulties to spread the news, to bear witness for the Lord. It’s true! Perhaps some brothers and sisters have seen and heard what kind of “compensation” believers in Almighty God get when they spread the gospel: Some are humiliated, others are beaten with clubs, some are chased off, and others have even been sentenced and imprisoned at the hands of those in power; they suffer all manner of persecution…. I urge everyone to consider this: Who would willingly submit themselves to curses, beatings, and humiliation to spread God’s gospel of the last days if it were not for God’s great love and the work of the Holy Spirit? Who would risk the dangers of prison and even his life to spread the gospel of God’s salvation in the last days if it were not for God’s work? Thus “If they convert a believer they receive a prize of 2,000 RMB, if they convert a church leader they can get 10,000 to 20,000 RMB” is nothing but a lie, a pure fabrication.

There are still others who have said: “They don’t maintain good boundaries between men and women—they are all very promiscuous….” Regarding this point, let’s take a look at Almighty God’s words: “I am the holy God Himself, I cannot be sullied, and I cannot possess an unclean temple” (“The One Hundred and Ninth Utterance” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). Some people have said that “Eastern Lightning is a criminal underworld organization. If you get involved with them you’ll never escape. If you try, they’ll gouge out your eyes and cut off your ears, or they’ll break your legs….” When they bring up underworld organizations, we all know that those involve murderers, arsonists, thieves, and robbers who do all manner of evil things. No one wants to provoke those sorts of people. Even the Chinese government and its police won’t dare mess with some of them, isn’t that right? So let’s take a look at the brothers and sisters who spread Almighty God’s gospel of the last days. When they go out to bring people to God, they endure being thrown out, insulted, beaten, attacked by dogs, arrested, imprisoned, and even tortured. They suffer all kinds of cruel treatment. If these brothers and sisters were really members of an underworld organization, would anyone really dare treat them that way? Would they endure verbal abuse and not respond? Whether they accepted the gospel and then withdrew from the church for whatever reason, or they never accepted it in the first place, who among them has had their eyes gouged out, ears cut off, or legs broken? According to this, there must be a number of people who have had eyes gouged out, legs broken. Have you seen a single one? If there really were one, wouldn’t the CCP government have long ago brought this to trial in a court of law, and issued a sentence, and then mobilized all the presses to spread the news across the entire world? Is there any factual basis for the things these rumor mongers have said? Neither is there any factual basis when they say things like: “If you get involved with believing in Almighty God, once you go in, you’ll never get out.” It is written in “The Ten Administrative Decrees That Must Be Obeyed by God’s Chosen People in the Age of Kingdom”: “Kin who are not of the faith (your children, your husband or wife, your sisters or your parents, and so on) should not be forced into the church. God’s household is not short of members, and there is no need to make up its numbers with people who have no use. All those who do not believe gladly must not be led into the church.” The Church of Almighty God has no need of those who do not gladly believe in God just to make up the numbers and when preaching the gospel, people particularly cannot drag people along or force them to believe in God. This is God’s administrative decree and every person must strictly adhere to this—it cannot be violated. The truth is that the door of the Church is open, and those who want to leave the church and their faith can go at any time. Nobody will coerce them. The Church of Almighty God always gives each person the freedom to make their own choices. In fact, it’s not that those who accept God’s work in the last days are unable to leave, but that they themselves do not want to leave. Why is this? Almighty God says, “The incarnation of God has sent shockwaves through all religions and denominations, it has ‘thrown into disarray’ the original order of religious circles, and it has shaken the hearts of all of those who yearn for the appearance of God. Who is not adoring? Who doesn’t long to see God? God has personally been among man for many years, yet man has never realized it. Today, God Himself has appeared, and shown forth His identity to the masses—how could this not bring delight to man’s heart?” (“Work and Entry (10)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). “During the last days, God once more became flesh, and when He became flesh this time, He ended the Age of Grace and brought the Age of Kingdom. All those who accept the second incarnation of God will be led into the Age of Kingdom, and be able to personally accept the guidance of God. … All those who submit under His dominion shall enjoy higher truth and receive greater blessings. They shall truly live in the light, and shall gain the truth, the way, and the life” (Preface to The Word Appears in the Flesh). The appearance and work of God incarnate in the last days has indeed sent shockwaves through the entire religious world and it has shaken the hearts of those who thirst for God’s appearance. The reason brothers and sisters from various denominations have returned to God is because they have seen the appearance of God, heard His voice, understood that Christ of the last days is the truth, the way, and the life, and that only belief in Almighty God will allow them to achieve salvation and enter into the kingdom of heaven. Who would want to leave after receiving salvation like this? Therefore, it’s easy to see that rumors about people not wanting to leave due to being afraid of having their eyes gouged out, ears cut off, or legs broken are just being fabricated by people with ulterior motives.

From what we fellowshiped about above, we can see that the slanderous comments about God’s work in the last days are nothing but lies that are complete fabrications with no basis in the truth. If we apply just a little bit of discernment here these rumors really start to unravel. A believer concocting lies and bearing false witness is behavior that God most detests; it is condemned by God, just as the Bible says: “A false witness deceit” (Proverbs 12:17). “Lying lips are abomination to Jehovah” (Proverbs 12:22). The Lord Jesus said: “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and stayed not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44). Knowing that concocting lies and bearing false witness is something God detests, why would they persist in doing this? John chapter 11 verses 47-48 say: “Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man does many miracles. If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.” Matthew chapter 28 notes this fact: After the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, the Jewish chief priests, scribes, and the Pharisees were afraid that everyone would believe in the Lord Jesus and that they would then lose their status and income. They then colluded to cover up the fact that the Lord Jesus was resurrected. They bribed the soldiers with silver and made up lies to persuade people that the Lord Jesus had never resurrected, saying that His disciples took His body away when the soldiers were sleeping. We see from this that people can intentionally fabricate lies, and judge and slander God’s work as well as blaspheme God. They do this to protect their own reputations, statuses, and profits. This shows their evil nature, that they hate the truth and are enemies of God. It’s just the same now, in the last days. As Almighty God has expanded His work of the last days in mainland China, great swaths of believers from many different religious denominations have come to accept God’s new work. When some leaders of these denominations see more and more people believe in Almighty God while the believers under them dwindle, they fabricate all sorts of lies and slander to condemn Almighty God’s work of the last days so that they can protect their own status and income. This is how they deceive and frighten brothers and sisters to make them afraid to seek, investigate, and accept God’s work in the last days; their purpose is to trap and control their congregations forever. From this we can see that the leaders of various denominations are the modern-day Pharisees revealed by God’s work of the last days. They make up rumors to protect their own status and income—they have their motives, their own goals in this.

If we are unable to discern these lies fabricated by religious circles and blindly follow them, then we stand on the side of those who slander, resist, and disrupt God’s work. This not only causes one to lose God’s salvation in the last days, but also turns one into a target for God’s loathing, rejection and punishment. This is just like the Lord Jesus’ work among the Jewish people, where the Pharisees made up all kinds of lies and slander against Him, such as saying that the Lord Jesus’ ability to cast out demons was only because He was conjuring the prince of demons, Beelzebub, saying that He was possessed by demons, as well as other blasphemous things. Because of the Pharisees’ lies and rumors, because they lacked discernment, and because they did not carefully study the Lord Jesus’ work and word, many Jewish people took the evil path of resisting God, blindly accepting the lies of the Pharisees and joining them in abandoning and murdering the Lord Jesus. The Pharisees spread falsehoods and slandered and blasphemed God, and we can all guess what ending they met, but what about those Jewish people who took those lies and slander as truth—wasn’t their ending just as tragic? They suffered unprecedented national destruction and the Jewish people scattered to the four winds. They had no home to return to for 2,000 years. Aren’t these the consequences of taking the lies of the Pharisees as truth and resisting God? We can see then, that those that believe in God without a reverent heart, who do not seek or investigate God’s new work, and who easily believe lies become accomplices to Satan and evildoers who resist God. In the end, they sink down into destruction because of this resistance to God. This fulfilled what is written in the Bible: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). “But fools die for want of wisdom” (Proverbs 10:21).

It says in the Bible that demons lie from the very start. Lying and slandering are two common tricks Satan uses to resist God and deceive people, and its evil intentions and cunning are hidden within. However, God’s wisdom is always a step ahead of Satan’s tricks. Satan is not only incapable of ruining God’s work, but on the contrary, it renders its service to God’s work. Just like when the Jewish chief priests, scribes and Pharisees tried so hard to resist and condemn the Lord Jesus’ work; they colluded with Rome to have the Lord Jesus crucified, thinking that they were succeeding in their scheme and they would obliterate the Lord Jesus’ work, but to their great surprise, the Lord Jesus said: “It is finished.” This shows us that God used Satan’s tricks to achieve His management plan and to complete His redemption of mankind. Today is no different. Even though there are leaders in various denominations who will stop at nothing to create lies and rumors to resist Almighty God’s work of the last days, not only is all of this incapable of harming God’s work, but in fact, they aid in the accomplishment of His work of the last days: the work of reaping and winnowing, of separating the wheat from the tares, the sheep from the goats, to classify man according to their kind, and to reward the good and punish the evil. Through our actual experience, we have seen that the lies of the CCP government and the religious world have deceived some brothers and sisters who don’t understand the true situation. However, through seeking and investigating God’s work of the last days and reading Almighty God’s words, those who genuinely believe in God and love the truth clearly see the fact that the true way has been subject to oppression since time immemorial. They understand that the more the CCP government and the religious world resists and condemns it, the more it is the true way—they thus turn back to God. But those who detest and hate the truth mindlessly listen to the lies and rumors and follow other people because they love evil and adore power. As a result, they are caught up in a web of lies and are stuck outside of the kingdom’s gate. Isn’t that God’s wisdom and almightiness? Lies may tightly bind together the “tares,” but these lies do not do the same to “grains of wheat.” The wind blows the chaff away, while the plump seeds will be gathered into the granary in the end. In this manner, Satan’s tricks end up only being the tools, the serving objects to complete God’s work in the last days of classifying man according to their kind, as well as rewarding the good and punishing the evil. God’s work is so wondrous and unfathomable.
